BELLINGHAM

Situated on Bellingham Bay along Washington’s coast, Bellingham is the county seat of Whatcom County. This vibrant city is home to more than 74,000 residents who enjoy a coastal lifestyle that is second to none. With a thriving economy, a wide array of businesses, excellent schools, countless recreation options and more, it is no surprise why many people have chosen to make this charming city their home. A few of the more popular neighborhoods include the Downtown area, Fairhaven, Happy Valley, Cordata and Barkley. BLAINE
 
The charming seaside city of Blaine is located in northwest Whatcom County along the shores of Drayton Harbor. Situated on the U.S. and Canada border along Interstate 5, Blaine offers the best of small town living with the amenities and attractions of Bellingham, WA and Vancouver, British Columbia nearby. Blaine real estate includes single family homes and condominiums ranging from the luxurious to the affordable. Birch Bay neighborhoods feature a variety of amenities available to homeowners, and properties are also available just minutes from the waterfront. Prices range from nearly $3 million to less than $100,000.
 
Students are served by the Blaine School District, and residents work on both sides of the border to give the community its unique economic opportunities. When not at work or school, Blaine provides countless recreational facilities. DEMING
 
Tucked in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, the Town of Deming is located between Bellingham and Mount Baker. As one of the largest towns along Mount Baker Highway, this rural community offers a rugged natural beauty that attracts many people to live in the area. Most of Deming is located along a stretch of several blocks that encompasses businesses, restaurants and homes. The Deming real estate market features mostly single family homes and condominiums in a variety of architectural styles to suit every lifestyle. Single family homes typically range from $890,900-$59,000, while condos are priced $224,900-$92,500.
 
Mount Baker School District serves children in Deming and those living in the surrounding valleys and hillsides. All students receive a well-rounded education while enjoying numerous recreation and cultural attractions. Whatcom County features the ski resorts on Mount Baker that draws skiers and snowboarders from around the country each winter. During the summer months, Mount Baker offers a challenging ascent for hikers and backpackers. The North Cascades National Park encompasses hundreds of acres of mountain forests and their wildlife and plant life. Horse farms and ranches are also found in the Deming, as well as the Nooksack River Casino. No matter what you’re interests, Deming offers attractions for everyone.
 
 
FERNDALE
 
Ferndale is a small town located along Interstate 5 approximately eight miles north of Bellingham. Residents and visitors alike get a true sense of the community by walking along Main Street with its shops, boutiques, restaurants and businesses. Residents can enjoy the charm of tree-lined streets throughout the town’s friendly neighborhoods and surrounding farmland. Real estate in Ferndale includes single family homes, farms, condominiums and land that range from as much as $1.4 million to $80,000.
 
Home buyers can find everything they need in Ferndale. Residents work in a variety of industries and students are served by the Ferndale School District. A number of historic buildings have been relocated to Pioneer Park for generations of residents to enjoy a glimpse at Whatcom County's pioneering past. Hovander Homestead Park and Tennant Lake Interpretive Center is a large, beautiful park along the Nooksack River with picnic areas and paths along the waterfront, as well as boardwalks that extend out into the lake and marshlands. Originally a working farm owned by the Hovander family, Hovander Park has maintained much of the homestead including a charming farm house, still furnished as it would have been 100 years ago.
 
 
LYNDEN
 
Lynden is the second largest city in Whatcom County with a population of approximately 10,000 residents. Located 20 miles north of Bellingham and just five miles from the Canadian border, this charming community was originally settled by immigrants from Holland and those Dutch roots continue to run deep through the region. Lynden School District serves students in the city who receive a quality education from dedicated teachers. Lynden real estate is made up of single family homes, farms and condominiums in an array of styles and floor plans to fit every resident’s needs. Properties range in price from $1.1 million to $145,000.
 
Along the city’s tree-lined Main Street, neighbors warmly greet each other over a cup of coffee or window shopping. Churches, restaurants, shops, cafes and other businesses are located along Main Street, making this the heart of Lynden. Delft Square Shopping Center is a popular shopping district for residents, and recreational facilities are scattered throughout the city as well. Homestead Farms Golf Course offers a challenging game for players at all skill levels, while the Northwest Washington Fair draws large crowds annually who enjoy the sights and sounds of a traditional agricultural festival.
